  12. ReqAttack is an incredible cool new requester improver similiar to ARQ. It
  13. is the successor of KeyReq and improves the look and handling of requesters
  14. of all programs which use the standard system requester functions (Easy-
  15. RequestArgs, AutoRequest, BuildEasyRequestArgs, BuildSysRequest) for that
  16. purpose.

  19. CHANGES IN V 1.0:
  20. =================
  21.  
  22. o Lots of new configuration items to enhance the look of
  23.   requesters (especially it's buttons) even more.
  24.  
  25. o For configuration  items which expect a  color you can
  26.   now also  specify a  direct colormap  (palette) pen by
  27.   putting a '#' char in front of the number.
  28.  
  29. o Background pattern  did not work at  all on OS 3.0 and
  30.   still had a few bugs even on OS 3.1.
  31.  
  32. o Transparency bug with CyberGraphX + SuperLayers should
  33.   be fixed.  Smart refresh windows  created with LAYERS-
  34.   NOBACKFILL are backfilled to color 0 with the standard
  35.   Amiga layers library anyway,  although they shouldn't.
  36.   SuperLayers obviously  does it correctly. I found this
  37.   out only after someone reported the bug - I don't have
  38.   a GFX card.

  40. o The checkitem  SCREENDEPTH didn't  return the  correct
  41.   value for  HiColor and  TrueColor screens.  I used  to
  42.   look at DrawInfo->dri_Depth  and this turned out to be
  43.   never greater than 8. Strange ...
  44.  
  45. o Commodities Interface. You can disbable ReqAttack tem-
  46.   porarily (new opened requester will not be enhanced by
  47.   Requester) and quit it with Exchange.
  48.  
  49. o New version of CyReq. On some  systems the dos.library
  50.   function ErrorReport()  (which creates a  new task  to
  51.   display the requester) seems  to run out of stack very
  52.   soon, so on some  systems it was enough to enter some-
  53.   thing like  "stupidtest:" in  the Workbench's  Execute
  54.   Command window to make the computer crash once the re-
  55.   quester asking for the  disk "stupidtest:" was replied
  56.   by the user.  Now this should be  fixed by using Stack
  57.   swapping in CyReq's  EasyRequestArgs() patch. The very
  58.   strange thing  is that ReqAttack  since ever  has used
  59.   Stack  swapping  in BuildEasyRequestArgs()  (which  is
  60.   called by  CyReq's EasyRequestArgs()  patch).  On a PC
  61.   running UAE + Picasso96  even CyReq running  alone has
  62.   caused the same  crashes because  of stack problems (I
  63.   think).  This is very  strange  since CyReq  used very
  64.   little stack  and afte r all does  not do  nearly any-
  65.   thing.

  67.   I found the place in the ROM, where ErrorReport() cre-
  68.   ates it's task  with too little stack  so I might do a
  69.   little utility  to patch a ROM file  and/or a BlizKick
  70.   module sometime.

  72. o New Tool  "QuitReqAttack".  Can be  used to  quit Req-
  73.   Attack from  Shell scripts  and ToolManager  like pro-
  74.   grams.

  76. o Improved docs a little bit which are now also availab-
  77.   le in German.

  90. o Keyboard control. Cycling through buttons with TAB, SHIFT TAB and CURSOR
  91.   keys. Activation of highlighted gadget with RETURN and another configur-
  92.   able key (default LCOMMAND v). Activation of rightmost gadget width ESCAPE
  93.   and another configurable key (default LCOMMAND b). Activation of buttons
  94.   by keyboard can be aborted by pressing SHIFT or ESCAPE before releasing
  95.   the button activation key.

  97. o Possibility to drag the requesters around by clicking anywhere in the
  98.   window.
  99.  
  100. o Possibility to make the requesters open in the center of the screen or
  101.   under the mouse pointer.

  103. o Very special conditional configuration.

  105. o It's possible to configure almost everything, like spacing between the
  106.   single elements of the requester and it's alignment, the color of the
  107.   highlight rectangle and much more.
